The conundrum of a boy. and the sun.

Vincent Van Gogh (detail from) Tournesois (Dutch 1887)

July, most likely.

One day you stood up against the sun
Know your size and how readily you could melt.
Eschew sophistication
And pull your heart from its willowy cage.

Your smearstained vulgarity, your mass, so weightless,
So crucial in the verification of the sun.
